# Realized savings

See the savings achieved through PerfectScale automation and track the real cost impact of automated optimization

{% hint style="info" %}
This feature is currently in **beta** and is available for testing. Its functionality may change as we continue to improve it.
{% endhint %}

The Realized Savings view gives you a cumulative view of what PerfectScale automation has delivered for your organization over time. It shows how much cost was avoided, how much CPU and memory were removed, and how many resiliency issues were addressed, so you can easily track and understand the impact of automation.

{% hint style="info" %}
This view is read-only. It reports value that automation has already produced and doesn't change automation behavior, recommendations, or anything in your clusters.
{% endhint %}

You can easily change the timeframe to view data for the period you need. Select one of the predefined options or set a custom date range using the date picker in the top-right corner.

## Understanding Realized Savings

### Realized Savings summary

The Summary panel gives you a clear view of the impact of PerfectScale automation over the selected timeframe. It shows how workload costs changed from the original to the optimized state, the realized savings from automation, the current cost of automated and non-automated workloads, and the resiliency issues addressed by PerfectScale automation.

{% hint style="info" %}
Unused node capacity is tracked separately because it represents infrastructure waste rather than workload optimization. Select or clear **Idle** in the cost chart to include or exclude idle capacity from the visualization.
{% endhint %}

#### Realized Savings Over Time

With a single click you can select or clear individual cost categories from the visualization to focus on the metrics that matter to you. You can also choose the time interval, such as day, week, or month, to control how the data is grouped and displayed.

### Resource optimization

The Resource Optimization section shows how PerfectScale optimization changes CPU and memory resource requests over time. The charts compare original and optimized requests and show the resulting impact on allocated resources, helping you understand how resource allocation changes as workloads are optimized.

### Realized Savings by cluster

The Realized Savings by Cluster table provides a detailed view of the savings delivered by PerfectScale automation for each cluster with automation enabled.

Realized savings by cluster

It shows the **current cost** after optimization, the **cost saved** in both dollars and percentage compared with the original cost, and the **pricing source** used to calculate these values, such as shelf prices or cost data integrated from your cloud provider, including AWS CUR. This view also provides the amount of **CPU and memory capacity saved**, giving you a clear view of both the financial and resource impact of automation at the cluster level.
